Fall fashion 2014: Camp classics

Our model farmer hits the wilderness in these All-American heritage looks.

Like some iron-fired, steel-wool, cut-oat-eating farrier taking the slow train from Hibbing to the Cities, the so-called “heritage” fashion movement arrived without a ticket home. Rough-hewed brands like Filson and Patagonia enjoy continued popularity among the hipster and hunter/fisher sets alike. At its heart, heritage serves both function and style, whether you’re hunting amongst the bracken or the kale.

Our model Andrew Joyer, a real-life bachelor farmer, tends to crops by day at Waldoch Farm in Lino Lakes, and wears his Red Wing boots on and off the field. Accordingly, we outfitted him in hardy looks from Twin Cities retailers and American-made brands that look as good on the street as in the Great Outdoors.

Lumberjack Days

“Gilgamesh spies the mountain for Humbaba. But remains undaunted. The swing of his hatchet has lofted many a foe’s head. Or severed snarly straps holding together juice-packs. His blood lust shall not be slaked.”
